He alleged that a Delhi police bus tried to run him over outside the Rajinder Nagar police station last night where protesting AAP volunteers were detained.

Dozens of mad protesters, mainly from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal s Aam Aadmi (Common Man) Party, tried to break through and jump over barricades erected around the police headquarters over the alleged murder of a 19-year-old girl last week.

Maken, chief of the party’s Delhi unit, sought direction to restrain Delhi government from publishing name of Kejriwal in any of AAP’s current or future advertisements in the national capital and other states as it was allegedly in violation of the Advertisement Guidelines, 2014.

However, sources in Delhi Police have claimed that the handbrake on the bus malfunctioned leading to the loss of control. Now Delhi Police functions directly under administrative control of home ministry.

Speaking over the radio on Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to engage with the Delhi or hand over its reigns to the AAP government to ensure accountability.

Kejriwal also asked Bassi to make public names of inspectors who were being repeatedly made heads of police stations in the city and inspectors who were ignored for such postings, Jain said.
