Prison Architect Will Be Available On PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One
Prison Architect will be releasing on the PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One this Spring, as announced by the Managing Director at Introversion Software Mark Morris. There’ll also be the ability to build and share other players’ prisons, much like the PC version’s Steam Workshop integration.
In Prison Architect, players build and manage their own maximum security prison built to hold the most hardened of criminals. There’s a story mode, a sandbox mode, loads of community features and some brand new stuff for the console release. You control every detail of your Prison – from building new cells and facilities to hiring staff and creating reform programs… all while dealing with informants, contraband smuggling, gang warfare, full scale riots, and a lot more! Enter Double Eleven, who have demonstrated a wonderful track record in taking a known game and really making it their own.
For the uninitiated, you should know that – even more than other strategy games – games like Prison Architect (another similar project is the excellent RimWorld, if you’re familiar with it) the key is planning.
The console version of the game will introduce a new Prison Warden mode introducing players to the game, complete with pre-built prisons.
Construction and management simulator Prison Architect is coming to a whole wave of consoles this Spring, encouraging a whole new audience to take up the role of a kind or tyrannical prison warden – the choice is yours. Introversion have previously been voted one of the top 50 Best Games Companies in the world and their most recent release, Prison Architect, has enjoyed success whilst in early access and now has over 1.5 million players.
You are not just an architect in the game; the prison is completely yours to control.
