Paul: Trump ‘little bit’ worse than Cruz
Do you support Donald Trump?
She said: “I guess it’s kind of the elephant in the room because my own family going through what we’re going through today, with my son, a combat vet having served in the striker brigade fighting for you all, America, in the war zone”.
Keep in mind Dole himself ran against Bill Clinton during the 1996 presidential election.
So it’s perhaps little surprise that Palin is re-emerging on the national political scene at this moment of reckoning for Republicans.
He added that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton was beatable – but not for Cruz. “Sarah’s endorsement is a very powerful endorsement, especially in certain areas, like Iowa”, Trump said.
“Our people pause at that and say, ‘My goodness, is he trying to have it both ways?'” Paul said. “Just pick somebody normal”.
“Our girls are seven and five and we will sit there and play Plants versus Zombies or Candy Crush”, he said. Many Republican lawmakers also fear that the Texas senator could ruin Republicans’ chances of hanging onto control of the Senate in November’s elections, alienating voters in a half-dozen key swing states with his hardline stances on issues from immigration to abortion.
Inside the Cruz campaign the goal is an Iowa win, a decent showing in New Hampshire and then more wins as the calendar turns South in March.
The 92-year-old Republican also said that Cruz is not loyal. He said he’s in strong contention for second place.
Mr Dole, 92, pulled no punches in his description of the strongly-tipped Texas senator, labelling him an “extremist” who no one liked, and who was not true to the values of the Republicans.
For Rep. Peter King (R-NY) the choice is simple. “I’m proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president”, Sarah Palin said in a statement provided by his campaign.
The endorsement came just two weeks before the Iowa caucuses and was seen as a political blow to Sen. While she’s hardly the conservative kingmaker she once was, Palin remains a favorite of the tea party insurgency, and her endorsement of Donald Trump for the 2016 GOP nomination gives him an added boost of conservative, anti-establishment credibility.
“I think it’s Trump”, Dole told the Times.
Dole told the Times that he was strongly supporting Jeb Bush, saying that he “needs to break out, and he hasn’t done it yet”. “He’s seen it all”.
