Deadpool has a very special Australia Day message
Hollywood shamefully copycats every movie that works – so if this does work, you’ll probably see more rated R films!
Celebrating Australia Day, Deadpool makes a point of taking some shots at Wolverine and specifically his appearance in the critically panned X-Men Origins: Wolverine. X-Force #1 sold a then record 5 million copies, trumped only a month later by the release of X-Men #1 from Jim Lee and Chris Claremont. The 39-year-old actor said that he’s a fan of the character himself, and since fans call his last portrayal of Deadpool in the Hugh Jackson-lead film “lame”, he’ll be making amends this time. Their gift to the Internet today: Deadpool poking fun at Wolverine just in time for Australia Day. It isn’t known if that scene was cut completely from the movie, but if it wasn’t, it sounds like it was much longer.
Inquisitr wrote that the movie was written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, but when Reynolds signed on to take the main role, they should have foreseen the improvisations.
Directed by Tim Miller and starring Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano, Deadpool will open in United Kingdom cinemas on February 10, 2016 before arriving in USA theatres on February 12, 2016. The movie’s star Ryan Reynolds appeared at one of the screenings and talked a little bit about the film, but also about the recent rating discussion of the film.
