‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ shines at Critics’ Choice Awards

Jacob Tremblay may only be 9 years old, but his name is quickly becoming big in Hollywood, especially after his acceptance speech at the 2016 Critic’s Choice Awards on Sunday, Jan. 17.

Brie Larson was not in the room when she won best actress for “Room”, and neither was Leonardo DiCaprio for “The Revenant”. For the current year, the enormous honor went to Brie Larson, 26, who totally slaughtered it as Bliss in Room. His performance has also earned DiCaprio a Golden Globe and a sixth Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

“Ex Machina” was named best sci-fi-horror movie.

On the television side, “Mr Robot” took best drama and Indian-American Aziz Ansari’s “Master of None” surprised everyone by winning best comedy. Nobody got their feelings hurt, but the comedy was far from tame and there was plenty of snark- the good kind.
Thanking everyone from her mum to her make-up artist Schumar joked, ‘I’m allowed to be indulgent, I’m never going to get an award again’.
Best Guest Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series: Timothy Olyphant, “The Grinder”.
Kirsten Dunst, who won a Critics Choice Award for her work on FX’s Fargo, looked effortlessly chic in a Chanel Couture dress and Roger Vivier shoes. The nine-year-old star of “Room’ not only won the award for best young performer, but he also won our hearts”.
“Carol” was shut out at the “21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards” Sunday, as it was the previous Sunday at the “Golden Globe Awards”.
