Clinton to Sanders: No, You’re Part of the Establishment
US Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont remains the clear front-runner in the New Hampshire Democratic primary now less than three weeks away, according to a Suffolk University Political Research Center poll released Friday.
Clinton says she supports a “no-fly zone” over rebel-controlled northern Syria, something Sanders and President Obama oppose.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says though many of Vermont Sen.
Though many party insiders have long expected that Sanders could win New Hampshire, the first-primary state, the close race in Iowa has the Clinton campaign scrambling with a little more than a week to go before the caucuses.
In the Thursday CNN poll, Sanders grabbed 51% support among likely Iowa caucus-goers to Clinton’s 43%.
“I think she’s a smart lady and I think she has a lot of experience and she could really do a lot of great things for us”, she said.
Clinton, who is in the midst of a campaign swing through Iowa, stressed that this was a tough race and said she knows how to get “knocked down” and get back up. “That is like asking the arsonist to be the firefighter”.
“We need someone in the White House who understands that NARAL and Planned Parenthood aren’t part of the establishment”, she said at the dinner, hosted by NARAL Pro-Choice America and organized to commemorate the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.
Clinton also began personally taking aim at Sanders in an Iowa speech today.
He added: “From this ad it seems black lives don’t matter much to Bernie Sanders”.
“I think what we have got to do is move as aggressively as we can to normalize relations with Iran, understanding that Iran’s behavior in so many ways is something that we can disagree with”, Sanders replied.
Meanwhile, the poll found that Cruz has a slim 30 percent to 28 percent lead over Trump among voters who participated in the Republican caucus in 2008. “Ted’s all over the place on this so I can’t characterize everybody else’s position, it would give me whiplash”, said Chris Christie, (R) Presidential Candidate.
Jennifer Aldrich, a 44-year-old fitness instructor in Iowa City, brought her 16-year-old daughter and her daughter’s friend to see Clinton.
