Demi Lovato Campaigns For Hillary Clinton In Iowa Ahead Of Caucuses
Brock, formerly a conservative journalist, runs numerous super PACs supporting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Olivia Miller, a 20-year-old sophomore from Kansas City, Missouri, said she’s leaning toward supporting Clinton and called Sanders “overhyped a little bit because I think that some of the issues he has been talking about are too socialist”.
In her second presidential bid, a defeat in Iowa could be considered a major setback for the Clinton campaign, as this is traditionally expected to set the pace and tone of the rest of the presidential season.
The Suffolk poll also showed likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters view Sanders favorably and as the most trustworthy candidate in the race. “All of a sudden, he looks like a very viable candidate, and I think most rank-and-file Democrats agree with him more on the issues than they do with Hillary Clinton”.
Clinton was referring to a remark Sanders made at the Democratic debate on Sunday when asked whether it’s time to restore diplomatic relations with Iran and reopen the USA embassy in Tehran.
Most believe Clinton will still capture the nomination. The Vermont senator now leads Clinton in New Hampshire, where the first Democratic primary will take place.
It was a consistent message for the candidate, who attacked Sanders in a speech earlier Thursday and released a video through her campaign that afternoon criticizing his proposal. Sanders cast himself as the outsider who would lead a political revolution, while Clinton touted her experience and embraced President Barack Obama’s legacy.
“It was shorter than I expected”, said Nicole Hall, 21.
“The fact that she could be the first woman president is so cool to me”.
In the Thursday CNN poll, Sanders grabbed 51% support among likely Iowa caucus-goers to Clinton’s 43%. “It would be such a huge step”, she said. Her recent comments about ‘ curing’ Citizens United echo Sanders harsh words about corporate funding in American politics.
The latest polls show sanders up by 27 percent in New Hampshire, and within striking distance – just two points behind Hillary Clinton – in Iowa.
