Manchester City’s Yaya Touré ‘open to offers’ over summer move
Manuel Pellegrini insists Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is fully focused on the current campaign and not planning his future away from the club.
“It is not easy but we must try to demonstrate why we are fighting for the title”. We are not thinking about bringing in any players or selling any other players.
Yaya Toure seems one of the unhappy players now in Manchester City especially after announcing that Pep Guardiola will become the club’s new coach starting from next season.
“He will not move in January”, Seluk said in an interview to Sportitalia, as relayed here by the Guardian. He always talks to me, giving me some piece of advice.
Seluk confirmed that his client won’t leave the Citizens during the January transfer window, but admitted things could change quickly after the season.
The Ivorian’s future at the Etihad has long appeared uncertain with agent Dimitri Seluk regularly suggesting a move could be on the cards.
However Toure stayed at the club this season and has helped City mount a Premier League title challenge.
Seluk added: “I don’t know what Guardiola’s plans are, but – after what happened at Barcelona – of course it is a worry that when he comes Yaya will be out. After that the future can be different”.
Aleksandar Kolarov has been ruled out after coming off in the Palace match with a calf problem, joining fellow defenders Eliaquim Mangala (hamstring) and Vincent Kompany (calf), plus midfielder Samir Nasri (hamstring) and striker Wilfried Bony (calf), on the sidelines.
