In letter, Avery says truth will set him free
Avery had previously spent eighteen years in prison after being wrongly convicted of rape, and circumstances surrounding the second case have led many to believe that he is not guilty.
“It was something that certainly cast me as a villain; every good conspiracy movie needs a villain”. Yesterday (Jan. 21, 2016), a local Milwaukee news station received a three-page note from Avery, in which he maintains his innocence and responds former fiancee Jodi Stachowski’s accusations.
Angenette Levy, the reporter who covered the Avery trial for WFRV-TV in Green Bay and who bears a strong resemblance to actress Rashida Jones, told me by email that she’s lately been inundated with social media messages and interview requests where she now works at WKRC-TV in Cincinnati. As near as these things can be determined, the YouTube video in question was “Ozzy Man Reviews Making A Murderer”. Why do you think this particular true crime series has captured such a wide global audience?
We did a little digging ourselves and found that the nurse’s name was Marlene Kranitz. What the series offered was for us to capture these compelling characters in these dire circumstances.
Steven…is the ultimate underdog here.
Q. How long will you follow this case? We are ready… if there are significant developments, we will be there. Both cases are now active.
Since the docuseries was released, Avery has obtained new legal counsel.
With respect to Steven, he actually has a new attorney, Kathleen Zellne.
“I was a dick”, Kratz told Gothamist’s Jena Friedman.
‘We needed time and some financial support to bring on collaborators to complete the vision, ‘ Demos explained.
“I’m the only one so far from the prosecutor or police side that has come forward”, Kratz said. “Their bias, their outcome, where they want the viewers to go with this, what they spoon feed the viewers, what they pick and choose by way of facts, what they leave out, importantly, causes only one reaction and only one conclusion: that Mr. Avery was innocent, and that he was the subject of planted evidence”. Obviously, we can only speculate about his motivation.
Ken Kratz (surprise!) filed a subpoena against all footage related to the investigation, alleging that the pair were acting as an investigative arm of the defense. Steven Avery’s parents, however, have remained largely quiet. We were not even investigating the Halbach case. “There’s chronic underfunding of people who defend the poor people – people should be outraged at that”.
Q. Do you think this docu-series will have an impact on Avery or Dassey’s prospects for freedom?
Speaking about this Buting said that it was “flattering” but was not really the “most important outcome” of the programme. They were saying, ‘You were there.
“There is a substantial risk Avery will not appear to answer the judgment following the conclusion of his post-conviction proceedings”, Fallon wrote.
He points out that the first soundbites in the series paint Avery as a victim, and that all but two people quoted in the first episode can be considered unbiased.
No Mention of Avery Greeting Teresa Halbach in a Towel: “The judge excluded the evidence”.
