Patriots list 21 on AFC title game injury report
He’s one of it’s greatest all-time players, period. Peyton Manning has thrown 539 touchdowns against 251 interceptions for the Colts and Broncos.
To put it accurately, it’s been disappointing.
Who are we talking about? It hasn’t been kind to Peyton.
Brady and Manning take pride in their preparation and their ability to call plays at the line of scrimmage to counter what the defense is doing. In a season of redemption, Brady could certainly exercise some ghosts by winning in Denver this weekend and appearing in two straight Super Bowl. The Patriots would lose 21-17 to the New York Giants at Super Bowl XLVI. They had Osweiler before, the type of quarterback that allows head coach Gary Kubiak to run the offense and utilize the run With Manning, that’s not the case – he does his thing, for better or worse now.
At age 39, Manning can still go out on top and in the process greatly enhance his mixed legacy. Marlin Jackson would intercept Tom Brady and launch the Colts to the Super Bowl, the first of the Manning era.
While Peyton Manning was out for much of the second half of the regular season with a foot injury, Tom Brady was lighting it up once again for the Patriots. While Brady holds an 11-5 advantage in the regular season, they each have won twice in the postseason.
The Panthers are one more home win away from their first trip to the Super Bowl since 2003. Although Manning missed that game, his supporting cast performed well. That was part of the problem this season, especially early when the offense was so stagnant. A win for Brady could make all of these so-called “analysts” eat their words and force them to crown Brady the best ever.
Brady will be Brady. Manning started as a quarterback for Denver throwing 222 yards with no touchdowns. But Brady, more than any other quarterback, has no problem being a one-man show when it comes to moving the ball downfield.
Tom Brady has completed 4,953 of 7,792 passes for 58,028 yards and a 63.6 pass completion percentage. That’s a given. It’s the AFC Championship Game, and it’s Peyton Manning. [He] didn’t play fantastic [and] made a few errors. He didn’t play much starters reps – Bradley Roby got those reps.
And then there’s Carson Palmer of the Cardinals, perhaps the NFL’s strongest all-round team.
Physically, he is not the player he once was.
The Cardinals have +375 odds after surviving a scare from the wild-card Green Bay Packers during a 26-20 home overtime win in the divisional round. Not against the Patriots. The Patriots ground game was better than only San Diegos and Detroits this season, and Denvers top-ranked defense was third in the league against the run. “People don’t realize, though, that he’s only a year younger than Manning”.
