‘Labyrinth’ Reboot Moves Forward with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Co-Writer
Mere days after the sad passing of the film’s star, David Bowie, Hollywood is set to reboot one of his most famous films: Labyrinth.
This movie definitely has one great sign going for it. The reboot is being written by Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman.
Additional details are forthcoming.
THR reports that the studio is developing a new film take on the 1982 fantasy classic, although whether it’s a sequel or remake is not yet known.
More news on the new Labyrinth as we get it. If it turns into a CG shitfest, we will join the queue of people who are not pleased…
Jim Henson’s daughter and Chief Executive Officer of The Jim Henson Company, Lisa Henson, will produce the Labyrinth reboot, which will be overseen by TriStar’s Nicole Brown.
The story follows a teenage girl (Connelly) whose younger brother is kidnapped by Jareth the Goblin King, played by Bowie.
The decision to bring back the 1986 film – where the singer played Jareth the Goblin King – has been made less than two week’s after the music icon’s death. It was only in the intervening years that the film gained a strong cult following.
Also, who on this earth can possibly replace David Bowie?
