1 ticket win Louisiana Lotto jackpot Wednesday
As the hunt for the owner of the unclaimed £33million Lotto jackpot intensified, a woman has reportedly come forward claiming to have the winning ticket. If it remains unclaimed, the £33 million will go to National Lottery projects.
Husband and wife David and Carol Martin, both 54, from Hawick in Scotland, came forward as the joint winners last week.
Camelot officials have descended on Worcester after it emerged that the ticket for the 9 January draw was bought in the city.
An unclaimed lottery ticket worth £33 million – half of the UK’s biggest Lotto jackpot – was bought in Midlands.
She told the newspaper she had not slept at all that night and had been trying to dry out the ticket using a hairdryer.
However, there is still plenty of time and over the coming weeks Camelot is likely to release information on where the ticket was bought in an attempt to help and track down the rightful victor.
‘We have sold many winning tickets before, but only for £25,000 or £20,000.
Now, they are warning residents to “check, double-check and triple-check” everywhere – saying the winning ticket-holder has 180 days to claim the massive sum. Operators Camelot are investigating.
The unnamed woman rushed into her local newsagent Ambleside News, in Worcester, on Friday, clutching the tattered piece of paper.
Camelot confirmed that it was aware of the case.
The National Lottery has so far given away over £57 billion in prizes and created more than 4,000 millionaires or multi-millionaires since its launch in 1994.
