Eagles fans named most hated in NFL
Before you know it, Eagles fans will be back to wearing their emotions on their sleeves and living up to that reputation at the Linc.
It was part of a feature on the “NFL’s most hated”, and the reasoning behind choosing Philadelphia included all the usual suspects: The snowball tossing at Santa Claus at Franklin Field and the jail in Veterans Stadium.
SI’s “Most hated people, places and things in the NFL” occupies the same space as, say, Rolling Stone’s “15 Worst Owners in Sports.” Point is, when a list requires a “worst owner” designation, be it sport-specific or American sports-wide, the dice always seem to turn up Snyder.
That solidified the hatred between the Eagles and the Cowboys forever, rowdy Eagle’s fans cheering for a motionless Michael Irving while booing an obviously upset Deion Sanders. Neither of those discoveries are surprises. Belichick has no personality and he’s not trying to get one.
So to have the national recognition as “Most hated fan base”, well that’s ok with us, because frankly we don’t care, it’s a Philly attitude and it’s the only way we know.
“If you don’t have any haters, you ain’t doin’ anything right”. If I were a front office person I would always want to find out which players the Redskins were interested in and decide to always stay away from them.
“What has caused such strife between Snyder and Washington’s fans?”
Former Jets receiver Percy Harvin was named the most hated locker room presence, and Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel made the list for being hated by the most fans around the league. At one point he refused to play in a game because he didn’t like the way he was being used.
The Oakland Coliseum is the most hated venue and the Calvin Johnson rule is the most hated rule.
