Trump says he could shoot people and still wouldn’t lose voters
Another rally in Waterloo, Iowa, is expected to feature the Texas senator later in the day.
Real estate tycoon Donald Trump is leading among the Republican presidential candidates, with his nearest rival Ted Cruz trailing behind by 14 per cent, a latest opinion poll said.
“When there are obstacles to his design that are insurmountable” – say, the NFL – “Mr. Trump will cut the rope and cut his losses and abandon the people who joined to support his cause …”
Mr. Trump has been virtually impervious to vicious attacks from his opponents, pushed the limits of his political rhetoric again in Sioux Center, Iowa.
“I’m taking a very big risk here and gambling on it, but this is how much I believe in Ted Cruz”, Beck said at a Cruz rally in Ankeny, Iowa.
As he spoke, the billionaire put his fingers into the shape of a gun and acted out pulling the trigger.
“It’s so nasty though”, Trump added.
Conservative TV and radio host Glenn Beck threw his support Saturday behind Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz has recently caught up in the polls in Iowa, where they’re now neck-and-neck in a battle for first place. One of the most ominous warning signs is the growing mainstream support for Trump, a candidate who has historically been treated like an outlier, and taken pride in that fact. Beck was more direct. “There is one thing to have a healthy ego, there is another to give a man who believes those kind of things, who has a habit of anyone who stands in his way of destruction”, Beck said. “I have never been so excited about anyone as I have been about Donald Trump”. “Uh, let’s see, uh?” Richard Burr was quoted by The Associated Press as having said in a private event that he’d vote for Bernie Sanders, an independent running for the Democratic nomination, over Cruz. And if you thought that Trump’s speeches were incoherent, Stephen Colbert is here to remind you that nobody tosses a word salad quite like Sarah Palin. “The Democrats are going to sue if he ever got the nomination within two days”.
A lawsuit was filed in Texas earlier this month over whether Cruz can run for president. And I don’t understand the controversy. Can you imagine if I did it?
“I decided, however, that maybe I was just being fed his attacks on Republicans by the media, and that maybe he really does attack liberals on the stump, and I am just not seeing it because the media won’t report it”.
Trump has used the citizenship question to hammer Cruz, and the issue has gained some traction among GOP voters. And while some criticism remained, the line to get into the auditorium went nearly across campus no matter the freezing cold.
