Ten of Howard’s saves came during Anaheim power plays. “He hadn’t played in a while, and played with confidence, gave us a chance to win”. It was a big win for the Red Wings who have struggled offensively in their recent outings.

The Lightning shut out the Panthers in the first period but the floodgates opened in the second as Florida hammered home four goals as forwards Jonathan Huberday and Nick Bjugstad each scored a goal and an assist. “We got 30 shots against a really good team, and we played well. It was throughout our lineup”, Bylsma said.

Up Next: The Sabres will be off on Saturday and then practice Sunday before heading to NY to meet the Rangers Monday night in Madison Square Garden.
