Glenn Beck backs Ted Cruz in Iowa
Days after Trump was endorsed by tea party favourite Sarah Palin, Cruz flashed his own conservative muscle during a rally in Ankeny, Iowa.
RANDALL HILL/REUTERS Texas Senator and U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has slipped in polls ahead of the Iowa cacuses.
The timing of Kaufmann’s decision to take the stage with Trump wasn’t meant to send a message in favor of the NY businessman or against Cruz, aides said.
The last two Fox News polls of Iowa, conducted in early January and early December, has Ted Cruz with a slim lead over the GOP frontrunner.
Donald Trump remains the GOP front-runner in Oklahoma, but it now appears to be a two-way race in our state’s Republican primary, according to an exclusive News 9/News On 6 poll.
George Quill, a 17-year-old student who attended the event in Keene, also pointed to Cruz’s immigration policies as the reason he supports the candidate.
Not to be outdone, Hillary Clinton’s campaign released another TV ad on Friday making her case for the presidency, “she’s prepared for it like no other”. “I want to be honest, I have received so many phone calls from people that you would call establishment, from people – generally speaking… conservatives, Republicans – that want to come onto our team”, Trump told reporters in Las Vegas before an appearance at the Outdoor Sportsman Awards.
Trump later went on to bash his fellow Republican 2016 candidates, calling the supporters of contenders like Ted Cruz “soft”. “We’ve got to do something different”.
Beck is among almost two dozen conservative thinkers who penned anti-Trump essays for National Review magazine – a hit Trump to referred to repeatedly at the rally. Senator Grassley did not endorse him but repeated Mr. Trump’s signature phrase, saying Republicans have a chance to “Make America Great Again”. We’re ready, most of us, for a change. He has the faith and determination believing he can push back all attempts by his rivals to knock him off his Top Spot.
But Cruz supporter Bryant Feeney of Hollis, New Hampshire, isn’t so sure that Cruz’s pitch is the right recipe for a victory in November. “I just don’t feel that’s where a majority of the nation is”.
Saturday evening Cruz and Beck held another rally in Waterloo, IA that was attended by well over 1800 people. I hope I’m wrong.
