New Jersey Transit services resume after big snowstorm
NJ Transit light rail service resumed at 11 a.m. Rail service will fully resume once Amtrak finishes clearing some areas. As such, customers should afford themselves ample time to reach their final destinations.
NJ TRANSIT cross-honoring of tickets and passes on bus, rail, light rail and private bus carrier services remains in effect through Sunday, January 24.
Bus service has mostly resumed, but passengers should be prepared for delays and detours. Bus, light rail and Access Link service will resume when weather conditions permit.
The Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad are also operating with scattered weather-related delays, “especially on elevated and open cut subway and rail line”, the MTA added.
The preliminary investigation says the driver may have tried to stop, but slid into the light rail vehicle due to slippery road conditions, according to the spokesman. Trains will depart Suffern at 1:06 p.m. and Waldwick at 1:27 p.m. heading for Hoboken.
