Barbara Bush endorses Jeb Bush in new ad
In the 35-second ad titled “A Message from Barbara Bush”, the former first lady offers up some praise of her son who has been struggling to break through in the presidential race.
The new video and a hand-written letter marks Barbara Bush’s first public appearance on behalf of Jeb’s campaign.
“I think at the end of the day, people are gonna want to know who can keep us safer and stronger and freer, who is a leader, who can do this job”, Bush said.
Trump, the billionaire businessman, continues to lead the crowded field with 34.5 percent of Republicans naming him as their guy, according to the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls. In New Hampshire, Bush also stated that he was “sure my brother [George W. Bush] is going to be campaigning by my side”, though this has yet to occur.
Two Republican candidates – U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Kentucky Sen.
Bush has relentlessly focused on Trump over the course of the last few months, believing that he can win over undecided Republican voters by raising doubts about the front-runner’s lack of conservative bona fides. I’d like to see the campaign actually unleash her on Trump.
Bush said he doesn’t believe Trump will emerge as the GOP nominee, saying that “the party process is going to work far different than what the pundits are saying”.
“She is without political enemies and without political baggage”, said former New Hampshire GOP Chairman Fergus Cullen an interview earlier this week, before the video was made known. “It is not a sign of strength when you insult Hispanics”.
“You can’t ignore them, because that’s weird”, Bush stated during a town hall meeting. John McCain, a Vietnam prisoner of war and two-time New Hampshire presidential primary victor, is not a “war hero” because he was captured. Of course, this wouldn’t had happened without the absence of Trump and Cruz, who were both in Iowa this weekend.
Rubio said Clinton “lied to the families of the victims of Benghazi”.
The Kentucky senator, whose campaign is struggling to gain traction, also said that Rubio, Bush and other Republicans are eroding Americans’ civil liberties in the fight against terror. And the Democrats know that, and so I think they are enjoying seeing, you know, me taking on these millions of dollars in attacks.
