The X-Files Season 10 Preview: Revival Series Starts Tonight!
In The X-Files Season 10 premiere episode ‘My Struggle, ‘ agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) reunite after 13 years.
Mulder and Scully – now broken up after Mulder was diagnosed with depression – are pulled back into the world of aliens by a talking head named Tad O’Malley (an appropriately full of himself Joel McHale). “Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as THE X-FILES, and we’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for”. This is not a steadfast rule, of course, as there were plenty of episodes in the original run that were both inventive and emotionally involving in plumbing premises that touched on abduction and alien contact – I’m thinking specifically about the Duane Barry episodes, but also “Anasazi”, “The Blessing Way”, and “Gethsemane”, amongst others.
That’s a question that will be answered as “The X-Files” continues. The government. They’ve been behind it all, using alien technology.
Anderson, who first revealed the pay disparity to the Hollywood Reporter on January 7, says she was stunned by the offer.
Other familiar faces pop up along the way: Mitch Pileggi is still in need of a stiff drink as FBI Asst. Dir.
“X-Files” fans took to Twitter to express their reactions towards Anderson’s claims. The moment I remember most vividly was the audible gasp of horror that rippled throughout the entire crowd when David Duchovny’s Fox Mulder ripped the iconic “I Want To Believe” poster- the decoration adorning many a dorm room wall in the mid-1990s-right in half. The truth is out there, and so are better episodes of The X-Files.
“I felt nothing about doing it. All I wanted was for it to rip correctly”.
