Panthers All-Pro LB Thomas Davis suffers injury to right arm
If he were to be lost for an extended period of time, not only would that be an excruciating blow to the Panthers going forward, but would be even more unfortunate for his comeback story with the Super Bowl on the horizon.
When asked if surgery would be required, he shrugged, but insisted he wasn’t bypassing a chance to play in his first Super Bowl. “I guarantee you that”, Thomas said Sunday night at Bank of America Stadium. “You better believe that…. We’ll get it figured out, and I’ll be ready in two weeks”.
Davis had six tackles and two tackles for loss before leaving.
Thomas Davis has torn three ACLs, so he knows when something is wrong. It hasn’t stopped him yet.
Carolina safety Roman Harper is also questionable to return with an eye injury.
“Because of my Lasik [surgery], the flap on my cornea shifted”, Harper said. “It happens, and I’ll be back”. Harper could be seen trying to use a towel to deal with the pain in his eye, but it was determined just before the half that he could not reenter. “If it is at all possible I know they are going to get me back and I will do my part to make sure I’m ready”.
He would return to the sideline with his arm wrapped and stay there, eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game.
