7 hurt on American Airlines jet; plane diverts to Canada
Emergency response crews are on the scene at the St. John’s airport after an American Airlines flight was diverted to Newfoundland on its way from Miami to Milan.
American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein said three flight attendants and four passengers were transported to hospital for further evaluation.
It landed at St. John’s International Airport at 9:45 p.m. local time.
A plane on course for Milan was forced to land after heavy turbulence.
The plane had 192 passengers and 11 crew on board.
Ms Norris did not know how many people were injured.
Paramedics, the St. John’s International Airport’s emergency response crew and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the airport.
None of the injuries are thought to be life threatening.
“I said: ‘God, help me'”.
Lecocq could not comment on the extent of injuries.
Passenger Kristoo Prakash of Italy said it was a “horrible” experience and that he prayed “God, help me”.
