Barbara Bush swipes at Trump in new ad
Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush had a sharp answer Saturday when asked to respond to Donald Trump’s tweet suggesting the governor needed his “mommy” to come in and rescue the campaign. “Of all the people running, he seems to be the one who could solve the problems”.
“I think it hurt him”, Mosbacher said of the former president.
That’s seen as subtle knock at Trump and other GOP rivals, but – as we’ve seen so many other times over the course of this campaign – even the slightest of knocks doesn’t go unnoticed by the NY real estate magnate.
He then revealed that while his mother kept a positive tone on camera, perhaps she’s been a little more vocal behind the scenes. “Jeb – mom can’t help you with ISIS, the Chinese or with Putin”. Ted Cruz, who is neck and neck with Trump in Iowa and rising in New Hampshire. Trump said at a rally in Hilton Head, S.C., on December 30 that the commercial was “false advertising” because “I killed him in the debate”. Kasich in recent days has said he plans to keep his focus on what’s ahead.
“I am writing to urge you to vote and to vote for Jeb Bush”.
Some voters say they are wary of political dynasties and can’t quite bring themselves for another Bush.
“I don’t think he’s a smart person, honestly”, Trump said. He campaigned and worked for, and helped write a book lavishing praise on, that former presidents son, Dubya. And the candidate, who’s tried to walk a delicate line of being his “own man” yet embracing his family name, has regularly received huge responses from audiences whenever he mentions his family.
Cruz hasn’t retaliated, but being criticized by George W. Bush delighted his tea party base.
Also in his book, Cruz recalled borrowing jeans, a shirt and that belt buckle from George H.W. Bush for a 2009 sailing outing, writing that “it was surreal to be wearing his clothes”. Rubio, the senator from Bush’s home state of Florida, pitched himself as the candidate best situated to reverse a “broken foreign policy” and mend a sluggish economy under President Barack Obama.
Bush has cut a video ad for her son’s campaign, which is so far only circulating on the Internet but might see broader circulation soon. I can only tell you that you know, there appears to be an air of desperation in some of these attacks.
