Former Titans QB Vince Young Arrested On DWI Charge
Former University of Texas quarterback Vince Young was arrested in Austin for driving while intoxicated.
Austin police told the station that Young was pulled over about 11:30 p.m. Sunday after he was spotted on Interstate 35 and pulled over at an empty parking lot on 51st Street.
According to the report, Young was booked 90 minutes later and his bond was set at $2,000.
Young was taken to Travis County Jail early Monday morning, according to the jail’s records.
Officers state in the arrest affidavit that Young was observed drifting across lanes of traffic at speeds of 40 to 60 miles per hour, failing to use his turn signal.
Police also described Young as being uncooperative once officers pulled him over.
Young, 33, lead the University of Texas Longhorns to a national championship via a Rose Bowl victory in 2006.
He retired from the National Football League in 2014 and now serves as a diversity and community engagement officer in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at UT, working as a fundraiser for the division’s educational programs.
His last appearance on a team was in 2014 when he signed with the Browns during the offseason.
