Street Fighter 5 has a story
Street Fighter is taking those cues, but will need a little extra time to get it right, so we’ll have the old way on launch. “Chronologically in the Street Fighter storyline, it takes place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, and fully explains everything that transpired in that electrifying time period”.
But that isn’t stopping Capcom from putting some serious effort into the Story Mode in the upcoming Street Fighter V.
There’s lots of Street Fighter goodness coming down the pipeline. “We’ve never done anything like this before in terms of the type of presentation, ambience, the type of look we’re doing in story mode”, Ono says.
Despite the fact that said content isn’t due until post-release, there will be various story elements available on day one.
The Story Expansion, though, is much more detailed, and features cutscenes.
Upon completing the character stories and other single-player content at launch, Street Fighter V players can earn enough Fight Money to purchase a new character, and possibly more depending on skill level.
With release around the corner and every character revealed, the last thing we were left wondering about Street Fighter V was how the single-player component would shape up.
Street Fighter V’s story mode won’t be available until June, but the full game will be out on February 16th for PlayStation 4 and PC.
YouTube channel, named Street Fighter V Mods, is dedicated to various mods created by the channel’s owner and other modders around the globe. The first post launch content for Street Fighter V will be released in March. At launch, there will be no downloadable content to purchase using Fight Money or real money. To prepare fans, Capcom is slowly unveiling what we should expect when the front-runner for best fighting game of 2016 finally arrives.
