Donald Trump jokes he could ‘shoot somebody’ without losing support

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says his supporters are so loyal they would stick with him even if he shot somebody.

Cruz responded to Trump at an event in Ankeny, where he picked up the endorsement of conservative firebrand Glenn Beck, a counterweight of sorts to Trump’s endorsement by 2008 vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. On the Democratic side, he sees Hillary Clinton struggling a bit.

Cruz, in a dogfight with Trump for top billing in Iowa, launched an early-state offensive here meant to tear into Trump’s position of strength by exposing his record on his signature issue: immigration. “It’s a guy who stands on his principles relentlessly”, Beck said.
Trump capped off the visit with a rally in Muscatine, where he was introduced by Iowa Republican Party Chairman Jeff Kaufmann – another sign that the Republican establishment is beginning to accept a potential Trump candidacy.

It comes after British MPs attacked Mr Trump as a “wazzock” for saying he would ban all Muslims from entering the United States and build a wall to keep Mexicans out. Trump said on Saturday in Iowa.
People familiar with his plans say Bloomberg is taking preliminary steps toward an independent run and has set a March deadline for the decision. “A lot of people are making a lot of money”, Trump said.
Though, Trump noted, ‘he does have a slight advantage in all fairness, ‘ the GOP frontrunner said of the country’s first African-American commander in chief.
