Diehard Patriots, Broncos Fans Board Planes to Denver

Peyton Manning isn’t done just yet.

Quarterback Peyton Manning and the Broncos host the Patriots in the AFC Championship game Sunday in Denver.

But will it be the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals or Carolina Panthers? They also prevented what would have been the tying two-point conversion with 12 seconds remaining. Peyton Manning was given a little time to throw by his offensive line and he took advantage by finding his receivers for nice gains over and over. He completed 13 of 23 passes for 168 yards, not exactly numbers that put a quarterback on track for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but Brady had done his job.

But in the immediate aftermath of that first win – the initial chapter in the Brady-Manning saga falling in Brady’s favor – something interesting lurked on the horizon: In three weeks, there would be a rematch.

“And he’s done pretty well, taking nothing for granted, cherishing every game, always trying to prove people wrong and the whole thing with Deflategate certainly reinforced that mindset all these years later though he has nothing to prove in terms of what a great player he is”.

It wasn’t in the forecast for tight end Owen Daniels to score before Rob Gronkowski in the AFC championship game.

But Manning showed he has something left.

Early in the second quarter, Manning found Daniels again for their second touchdown of the day, this one for 12 yards.

“He nearly looks like he’s held together with Scotch tape now”, Myers said about Manning, who threw nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions this season.

With the Patirots now playing from behind, it will be interesting if Tom Brady tries to be a bit more aggressive as well. His passer rating was a horrific 18.1 in the first half.

This is an unusual sight: Tom Brady bloodied and picking himself up off the turf. “No doubt, (they are) looking to get some revenge”. Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby picked off Brady’s pass on the two-point conversion. The top-ranked defense of the Denver Broncos is applying plenty of pressure in the AFC championship game. Brady has been sacked once and knocked down another time.

From his synthetic weed drama to his fitness ahead of the Conference Championship, Jones just needs to get back to football.
