Jon Hamm’s First Name Is Spelled Wrong On His Golden Globe
It was the same year the Writers’ Guild of America was on strike, which meant there was no Golden Globe ceremony, and Draper had to receive his first best actor gong in the mail.
Well, actually, according to the name on the statue he was given, Hamm didn’t exactly win the award in 2008.
The Mad Men actor sat down with Vanity Fair over the weekend and revealed that his first Golden Globe award had his name spelled out as “John”.
The error is surprising given that Hamm is a two-time victor of a Golden Globe and has been nominated a further six times.
Here’s a screenshot taken from the video of my boyfriend Jon Hamm holding a cup of coffee, which reminds me, my name gets spelled wrong on my Starbucks cups all the time.
With Mad Men over and Hamm in no Sundance films this year, he’s done with the awards circuit for the moment.
Jon Hamm is no stranger to the Golden Globes, but he used to be.
The other interviews conducted by Vanity Fair at Sundance are worth a quick watch, too.
“There should be a jury for best scarf and best hat”, Hamm joked.
“I feel like we could get the Mumford and Sons here and they all could judge it and it could be the suspenders and facial hair run-off”.
