Ronaldinho escapes major tragedy in Kozhikode

FC Barcelona legend Ronaldinho overslept and was reportedly late for the inauguration of a football tournament in India on Sunday.

For thousands of football fans, who gathered to get a glimpse of Ronaldinho, it was a dream come true feeling, as the Brazilian football star inaugurated the Sait Nagjee football tournament in a spectacular function at Kozhikode Beach in Kerala on Sunday.

The investigation has begun and player is safe. From the airport to the hotel, he was taken in a procession of 500 two-wheelers with several turning up to see him on the drive to the hotel.

The football wizard was capped 97 times by his country wherein he netted the ball 33 times.

The tournament, which will include seven clubs from South America and Europe, kicks off on February 5 with brand ambassador Ronaldinho in attendance.

“The arrival of Ronaldinho will be a big boost for the revival of the Sait Nagjee tournament and football in the district”.

CPI-M legislator A Pradeep Kumar told IANS that after completing his morning engagement when Ronaldinho came to visit a state-run school, his vehicle was coming out from the school. The last time the tournament was held in 1995, JCT Mills beat Dempo Goa to clinch the title. Find us on Facebook too!
