Google now allows app installations from search on Android
The company is reportedly chatting with its OEM friends about making a phone that more “deeply” integrates its apps and services into Google’s open source operating system. The online retailer has reignited its mobile handset ambition with a renewed focus.
You might lose Google Maps and YouTube apps, but a cheap, Amazon-branded phone could potentially do really well for itself – emphasis on cheap, as we all learned from the Fire Phone’s misfire. For instance, imagine paying for apps with your Amazon account instead of Google Play, which you already do if you use a Kindle device.
“This would help Amazon gain a measure of influence over Android smartphone software, which is owned by a competitor, Google”, the report notes.
After the poor reception that the Amazon Fire phone received following its launch in late 2014, you might think that Amazon might be turned off from the smartphone market altogether.
In an article written by Phone Arena, they featured some of the games that apply this discount creating a picture of how much a person could cut down on in-app purchasing. So, at least, a few Amazon services could be thrown into the Android mix within Google’s licensing conditions.
The battle between Apple and Google for dominance in the app market has been revealed with a new set of numbers.
“There are plans to release the Level app for Samsung’s Level audio devices as well, which will enable iPhone users to use these devices and make use of various effects and an official way of control”, adds SamMobile. The online retail giant should look to integrate features that don’t directly complete with Google, such as its “Firefly” scanner, if it hopes to successfully negotiate with OEMs.
