Knoxville’s Harrison Smith headed to Pro Bowl
He’s the third member of the team named to this year’s Pro Bowl.
The Vikings will be sending five to the Pro Bowl this weekend. The two will join teammates Adrian Peterson, Everson Griffen, and Harrison Smith. Both Barr and Bridgewater were selected as injury replacements. He also recorded a forced fumble, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions – one of which he returned for a touchdown.
Smith will be the first Vikings defensive back selected for the Pro Bowl since cornerback Antoine Winfield after the 2010 season. Bridgewater is replacing Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer while Barr is replacing New England Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins – both of whom suffered from injuries during their respective NFL Conference Championship games. Entering the 2015 season with a goal of completing 70 percent of his passes, he finished his second season with a 65.3 completion rate, throwing for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Dumervil earned a second straight Pro Bowl invitation and the fifth overall in his 10-year National Football League career. He started all 16 regular-season games, and had a breakout performance against the Chicago Bears on December 20 when he threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another. The Pro Bowl game kicks off from Honolulu, Hawaii this Sunday at 6:00 pm Central on ESPN.
