Day two for social media threat against Raytown High School
On Monday morning, Raytown High School administrators initially kept some students on their buses as they they investigated text messages that contained a threat to students at “Rhs” high school. “We have no suspects at this time”.
Increased security is in place because of an online threat made toward Cass Tech High School in Detroit.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. January 25, troopers from the Metro Post responded to Romeo High School’s campus due to a social media threat posted on Instagram.
Later Sunday, the sheriff’s operation center received several calls from parents concerning the same message about Lake Orion, transmitted via Facebook and Twitter. University Prep Schools CEO Mark Ornstein said in a statement that at least two other districts received threats.
Lincoln High School in Dallas is on precautionary lockdown Monday after receiving a social media threat, according to district officials.
The same social media threat was made in Florida, Michigan and Alabama, school officials said.
The Raytown Police Department says investigators are trying to find the computer IP address from which the threat was sent. Warren Police were investigating a threat that a parent reported that was aimed at Lincoln High School. Right now the school remains on lockdown as police and school administrators try to figure out who is behind the threats.
Zdrodowski declined to release details about the threat, but said school was not canceled.
