Leicester launch £8m bid for Italy worldwide to boost title hopes
Defeat to Tottenham in the FA Cup third round means Leicester are enjoying a 10-day break from action before hosting Liverpool on February 2 – the only side to have beaten them in the Premier League since September.
Leicester City face competition from Inter Milan for the signing of Sampdoria forward Eder, with the Genovese club’s director of sport Carlo Osti confirming the Nerazzurri are interested.
The Brazilian-born forward, could leave for around £10million and reports suggest Leicester have offered him a three-year deal.
Eder has 12 goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season, while Inter are only five points above the relegation zone. He has also been capped 8 times for Italy and scored on two occasions.
It was also suggested that boss Claudio Ranieri is ready to offer Eder a three-year contract should he make the switch as the Italian tactician looks to fill the void left by Andrej Kramaric’s loan departure to German club Hoffenheim last week.
“It’s not possible to play at high intensity for all the season”. We want to maintain our position. The big teams are not at the top. “I know it’s hard but we must try”.
The surprise Premier League leaders, who convincingly defeated Stoke City 3-0 on Saturday, want to sign the Sampdoria striker in a bid to sustain their title challenge this term.
