Homefront: The Revolution co-op ‘Resistance Mode’ revealed
But Deep Silver says the missions will be “narrative-driven”, and there will be a lot of them: The plan is to launch with a dozen Resistance Mode missions in the game, and then put out another 20 over the first year of release, all of them free.
Video game publisher Deep Silver gave up new details about the upcoming open world first-person shooter Homefront: The Revolution, revleaing that the game will feature a new co-op mode, as well as annoucing the dates for the closed beta.
If you pre-order the game you will receive the Revolutionary Spirit pack, which has also been revealed today. In it, players form a “Resistance Cell” online and wage battle in KPA-occupied Philadelphia.
Homefront: The Revolution throws players into an alternate near-future dystopia, where a humanitarian crisis has brought the U.S.to its knees under the brutal military control of a globally dominant Korean corporation.
Registered members may also be invited to a special Closed Beta Stress Test which will take place on Friday, January 29 and Friday February 5 on Xbox One.
Resistance Mode will debut with 12 diverse Missions when the game launches with an additional twenty missions planned as free DLC. The pack includes unique skins that include a Red Skull motorbike and Golden pistol, and instant access to the Marksman rifle, sniper scope and all the fun of remote explosives in Resistance Mode.
Players can also unlock new skills, earn weapon blueprints, rare equipment and combat gear which can be used to customize and upgrade their Freedom Fighters. But your enemy has the advantage – superior technology, firepower, heavy armor and air support. All it shows, really, is a group of four players going through different types of missions, but the concept is there.
Homefront: The Revolution will be available in North American retail stores on May 17th, 2016 and May 20th, 2016 in all other territories.
