Flat-earth believer BoB battles Neil DeGrasse Tyson on Twitter
The track entitled “Flatline” includes quotes from Tyson and takes a direct hit at him: “Aye, Neil Tyson need to loosen up his vest/They’ll probably write that man one hell of a check”.
In response to B.O.B.’s numerous tweets, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson joined the conversion and fired back with scientific facts.
But B.o.B was not having it, and he responded Tuesday by releasing a diss track further arguing the Earth is flat. “You’ve never been south of Earth’s Equator, or if so, you’ve never looked up”.
“Flat Earth is a problem only when people in charge think that way”, Tyson continued. You read that correctly.
According to Noisey, the song is performed by deGrasse Tyson’s nephew Steve Tyson, who raps under the name Tyson. “I didn’t wanna believe it either” the rapper tweeted but “there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know”. “/ The ignorance you’re spinning helps to keep people enslaved, I mean mentally”.
The haymakers come in the form of lines tailored to Drake’s original rhyme pattern on “Back to Back”, even down to the Charlamagne tha God name-drop (“I’ve already stepped out of the fast lane / You the Donkey of the Day, I ain’t waiting for Charlamagne / And all them odd clouds must be messing wit ya brain”).
Alarmingly, B.O.B isn’t the first celebrity flat Earth truther.
Neil deGrasse Tyson was quick to point out to the rapper that a picture might be worth a thousand words, but in this case, science could speak volumes.
