Sofia Vergara Sues Beauty Company For Allegedly Misusing Her Face
Sofia Vergara is suing a beauty company for $15 million. The $15 million suit filed Monday further claims that “Vergara tried the Legacy treatment, but ultimately did not like it, finding that it was a waste of time and money with little in the way of any results”.
Sofia says Venus Concept blew up images of her and used them to promote its products around the world.
The Modern Family star received a “skin tightening” massage from the firm in August 2014, as she prepared for 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.
And, the shot may have gotten nearly 40,000 likes but Vergara said she didn’t enjoy the treatment.
At the time, she shared a selfie from her massage, captioning it “What is so amusing, Marilyn?”, referring to a poster of a smiling Marilyn Monroe on the wall behind her.
According to reports, the company has been identified as Venus Concept and the 43-year-olds image and name has been used to promote their products at exhibition boots, trade shows, as well as for their internet advertisements.
Sofia Vergara is now endorsing Rooms to Go, Head & Shoulders, and CoverGirl.
The actress also claims to have made “repeated demands” in past months for the company to stop using her image, but these had not been made, prompting her to take legal action. “For someone to just slap her face and image on something that she doesn’t even like, she just feels like she’s cheating her fans”. Venus Concept has not released their statement as of yet pertaining to the lawsuit.
