I’d like to work with Leone if she is ready: Aamir
Clarifying his statement, Aamir Khan said that he stood by what he said but “neither I, nor my wife Kiran, have any intention of leaving the country”. The entire episode led to the intolerance controversy and after being quiet for the longest and taking in all the brick bats, Aamir has finally opened up and has given an explanation on the same. “I cant deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents”, he had said when asked to comment on perception of rising intolerance.
Amir at an awards function in November declared his wife Kiran Rao suggested moving to another country amidst the growing intolerance in India. I do this because I love my country. And those who are hurt, I can understand their feelings.
At an event on Monday, the actor reiterated that his comments on the intolerance debate were misunderstood and he had never planned to leave the country.
“Our country is diverse with so many languages, culture…no other country has so much diversity as India”, he said. Putting her point forward, the “Ishaqzaade” actress said, “I would constantly feel that I have not done anything wrong, don’t stop me from doing this”.
In a TV interview, which garnered a lot of negative attention on social media and flak from Bollywood celebrities, Sunny was asked whether Aamir would want to work with her and she responded with “probably not”. He says, “See my actions in the last 25 years, the kind of films I did”. Those who did not get my statement mislead people. “I love the nation which is why I take up such projects”. The actor also insisted that for him it was impossible to pass any such statement about a country for he belongs to the family of great freedom fighter Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. My two sisters are married to Hindus – Farhat is married to Rajeev while Nikhat to Santosh. She fears for her child. I even felt sad when she refused to work with me.
