Arsenal boosted as Theo Walcott AGREES new four-year contract
Theo Walcott has agreed a new four-year deal to stay at Arsenal – becoming one of the club’s highest earning players in the process.
Arsenal will officially confirm the new contract in the next two weeks – certainly before the start of the Premier League season when they play West Ham at home. “Mirror” magazine announced the news saying that Walcott’s new contract with the Gunners will make him the player with the highest wage in the club.
His previous contract was set to expire in summer 2016.
Walcott has already proved that he has returned to full fitness, which was originally a fear Wenger harboured after an injury which kept him out for a year sustained during an FA Cup clash against North London rivals Spurs in January 2014.
The signing of Walcott now concludes the only uncertainty Arsene Wenger had to hurdle with a crucial squad member this offseason, quite a far cry from years’ past when these types of dramas were the norm rather than the exception.
The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Liverpool, with the Express claiming that Brendan Rodgers was monitoring his situation at the Emirates; yet the former Southampton star has allegedly put an end to speculation on his future.
