Broncos Super Bowl Bound After Win Over Patriots

But it may take a slight turn for Sunday’s AFC championship game between the visiting New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. This is their 17th meeting, and likely their last.

The Manning-Brady Bowl is expected to be a game for the ages. The Patriots won, 44-13. We don’t realize how having Edelman on the field really helps Tom Brady.

How nondescript was this game?

Collins left last week’s game with a back injury and his availability is unknown. When asked what he remembered about being there, my father could only recall that the Patriots won big. It was Brady’s first start, after coming in for an injured Drew Bledsoe at the end of the previous week’s loss to the New York Jets. This will be the 17th time the iconic quarterbacks have played against each other.

I can’t wait for this game! Let’s see what the young quarterback can do.

Brady and Manning played against each other for the first time in 2001. If he falls on his face? If it gets any worse, it’ll get worse as the day goes along.

The Patriots put together a long drive in the fourth quarter, and got inside the Broncos’ 20-yard line.

Providing bulletin-board material for the defending Super Bowl champions probably isn’t a good idea.

And Denver’s defense is much better than Pittsburgh’s. “Or a guy just like him”. They’re also 15-0 in the postseason under Belichick in that scenario. Peyton Manning completed threw for 222 yards to lead the Broncos.

Sirius satellite radio listeners can hear the AFC title game on channel 88, 83 (New England call) or 82 (Denver call).

In AFC title games, Manning is 2-1 against Brady. In Week 2, the Colts beat the Bills, 42-26. Manning had two touchdown passes.

I looked up the box score on pro-football-reference.com to refresh my memory.

The Patriots got the benefit of a turnover too, and turned it into their only touchdown of the half. New England S Devin McCourty, a former St. Joseph and Rutgers star, has a chance for a second ring. So Anderson and Hillman need to keep the chains moving. That means for the first time in his career, he doesn’t have to shoulder the load. But his ragged arm can no longer win games by itself, and there are rumors he will retire after the year. I’ve got a ton of respect for them. For me this game comes down to match-ups, and as good as Josh Norman is, he can’t cover all of the Arizona weapons.

Per Paul Klee of the Gazette, defensive lineman Antonio Smith told reporters it “would be an accurate statement” to label New England quarterback Tom Brady a crybaby. We also want to block in the secondary so the running backs can have running room.
