The Boston Globe Endorses John Kasich
As we come to the finish line, it appears that John Kasich could finish in the top four behind Donald Trump. “I’ve experienced it all my life”.
While Kasich is focusing on New Hampshire, he told Hemmer that it remains to be seen if a loss in Iowa could cause him problems in the New England state.
The Ohio governor began his career in public service in 1978, when he became a state senator at age 26.
He said he views Mr. Kasich as a full-spectrum conservative. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was at 9 percent after polling 10 percent in December.
“John Kasich is #1 in spending”, the mailer states. He has also consistently shown his dedication to helping his state’s most vulnerable citizens through actions such as expanding Medicaid.
“I’m not as concerned about the typical politics, the criticisms going back and forth”. The Governor of OH is happy to be getting more endorsements-most recently The Boston Globe and The Concord Monitor. Also supporting him are the Nashua Telegraph, Valley News, Portsmouth Herald, Foster’s Daily Democrat and Bow Times.
Rand Paul at 6% in a CNN/WMUR poll released this week of Republican primary voters.
“Really awesome”, Kasich said.
We have seen a lot of promises made by presidential candidates. “I just am very, very grateful that this is happening”. But there are some obstacles blocking Kasich, even if he does take the silver in New Hampshire. “Do you know that?”
He has held more town halls in the Granite State than any other candidate – 80 to date, with plans to surpass 100.
On Wednesday, the New York Times reported a national conservative group will spend $1 million on Kasich attack ads in New Hampshire. But unlike Kasich, the other three candidates – Rubio, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, and former Florida governor Jeb Bush – are also trying to remain competitive in Iowa and are campaigning there this week. “I got carried away”.
But, Andy Smith – with the University of New Hampshire Survey Center – is skeptical of calling Kasich’s current situation a bump. But he said he will return to New Hampshire on Friday, with events resuming on Saturday.
“Hey, nobody said they liked my haircut!” “Iowa is like five media markets”. “(Or) when you say that a prisoner of war is a loser because they got caught”.
“I’m not disrespecting those people out there, but this where we need to be”.
“You have to find out what that special thing is”, Kasich added. “Or you can actually live on the sunny side of the street, and not only believe, but know, that working together as Americans, we can beat all these challenges”.
During the town hall meeting, Kasich – accompanied by Ohio Attorney General and former U.S. Sen.
So Kasich is trying to give himself an edge by zeroing in on New Hampshire.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is meeting with a steel workers local union in Des Moines, making the case for expanding Social Security benefits and fighting trade deals he says would hurt workers. “And I always thought it would pay off”, he said. “No Republican has ever won the White House without winning OH and I am the only candidate who can guarantee you that I will defeat Hillary in Ohio”. Even Trump, who has exchanged fire with Kasich before, has given the OH governor a tip of the cap in last week’s debate and on Twitter.
