Darth Vader may have major role in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’
There is so much to Darth Vader that makes him endlessly memorable: the mask, that deep and unforgettable voice (thanks, James Earl Jones), his laboured breathing, and all those famously quotable quotes (“No, I am your father!”). A recent possible development in the highly anticipated anthology, “Star Wars: Rogue One”, teases that a certain iconic villain will be given a pivotal role in the movie.
And all this from a bad guy whose face you barely ever see!
There are only 11 months left until fans get another good dosage of “Star Wars” mania as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is set to be released in December of 2016.
Lastly, addressing those Darth Vader rumors, we can confirm that Darth Vader will be in the film and is expected to have a larger role than originally thought. The new ones used in the “Star Wars: Force Awakens” were well received, so again this is far from shocking. I know some folks may feel that it would be better to feature new or lesser known characters, but it’s not like they aren’t addressing that as well with ROGUE ONE. This is all the information that they can share on the character for now. On top of that, one of Rogue One’s major characters is rumored to be an ex-Imperial droid who now serves the Rebels. And could this new droid be the motion capture Alan Tudyk is playing? The storyboard “pitches” showing decapitated rebels, people being dismembered by Vader throwing his sword, levitating bodies to make human shields and so on.
“Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe”, Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. Rumours suggest that the Rogue One trailer will be screened ahead of Captain America: Civil War, which comes out on May 6 in the US.
The Darth Vader in this film will no longer be the Anakin Skywalker seen in “Revenge of the Sith”. However, now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has started to settle down a bit, details of the upcoming spin-off film (set in the days before the original 1977 Star Wars and following the Rebel soldiers who steal the Death Star plans) should soon start to trickle out at reasonable pace.
Dead Ewok fuzz. Must’ve missed that episode of Star Wars: Ewoks.
