Stars of rival TV dramas set to marry
THEY may be on rival TV shows, but that hasn’t stopped Tom Goodman-Hill and Jessica Raine getting together.
Jessica Raine is engaged to “Mr Selfridge” star Tom Goodman-Hill.
In a rare occurance of life immitating art, the 33-year-old met her future fiance when they appeared opposite each other in a play about a troubled husband who is lured away from his wife by a young mistress.
A friend of the actresses said to the publication that all her pals were delighted by the news: “We are so happy for them. After a few weeks of playing her, I have this overwhelming desire to go out and get drunk and fling myself round a dance floor with wanton abandon”, she said.
The actress, who appears opposite David Walliams in new Agatha Christie series Partners in Crime, has been spotted wearing a diamond solitaire ring.
Jessica previously said that getting hitched wasn’t high on her list of priorities.
In ITV’s Mr Selfridge, Goodman-Hill played middle-aged adulterer Roger Grove.
They had been in a relationship for 20 years, married for five and had two sons.
“Jess and Tom did not get together until well after he and his wife Kerry were separated”. He had to tell all the guests the party was off, and admitted his marriage was over, saying “it’s all my fault”. Asked by the Mail on Sunday about the engagement, Bradley said: “I’m aware of it. That’s all I want to say”.
Representatives of both Miss Raine and Goodman-Hill declined to comment.
