Groups sue city, state over Flint water crisis

The Legislature is expected to direct $28 million in additional funding toward Flint on Thursday. A spending bill pending in the state Senate includes $3 million to help the city with unpaid water bills.
The suit is filed by the Concerned Pastors for Social Action, Flint resident and water activist Melissa Mays, the Michigan ACLU and the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. “I’m asking for a staircase”. Weaver said at a news conference Wednesday that Marc Edwards will oversee all water testing done by the state and federal governments. “It’s about getting the facts out there”.
High lead levels have been detected in Flint’s water since it switched from Detroit’s system and began drawing from the Flint River.
