More Affordable ZenFone Zoom Handset Is Not In Asus’ Plans
The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition measures 152.5×77.2×10.9mm and weighs 170 grams. The device is supposedly the thinnest phone in the world to offer 3x optical zoom.
The camera theme extends to the design as well – the front might be similar to previous ZenFones, but the volume and power buttons have been moved to the right edge and the body’s now made of aviation-grade alloy.
Talking about its 13 megapixel camera, the key highlight of the phone, the phone’s optical zoom capabilities left us impressed us in day-light environments. It also has the ability to stitch together a 52MP image. Also, the camera failed to capture true to life colours in areas other than bright environments. Asus has also added a five megapixel front-facing camera for selfie obsessed fans.
So we at DNA chose to put the “DSLR” camera to the test – we have compiled a slideshow so our viewers can decide if the camera is worth buying the phone. Apart from that one my get amused by the internal storage as well, it bears 256GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 128GB with the help of Micro SD card slot.
When it comes to gaming, this one is also powerful. It runs on Asus ZenUI on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The speaker at the back produces loud results, but in terms of audio quality, it is not among the best.
Last but not least, Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, which is non-removable.
Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphone comes with a full HD display and Gorilla glass 4 protection. The ZenFone Zoom is fueled by Intel’s Atom Z3580 quad-core SoC, along with a PowerVR G6430 GPU for graphics. According to Asus, its BoostMaster technology for turbo-speed charging can take the battery level in the ZenFone Zoom from 0 to 60 per cent in just 39 minutes.
