Police say they have not arrested anyone in the Tuesday night shooting at the encampment known as “The Jungle”.
“At this point, we don’t know if it’s safe, we urge people to stay away until we can get you additional information”.
Murray said, “We have tried to do the best that we can given the circumstances we have but obviously I’m going to question was I good enough at my own job”.
Dozens of police officers, SWAT teams and sharp shooters are combing the area and interviewing residents of the camp.
Police responding to reports of gunfire searched the area and found the bloody victims.
Three others were wounded in the shoot-out in Seattle. One woman is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The three were in surgery until approximately midnight.
Gregg says in a news release that two women are breathing on their own and remain in serious condition in intensive care.
Police said one of the victims, an unidentified woman, died at the scene.
Two suspects were being sought, police said.
