Man charged with throwing tomatoes at Donald Trump during Iowa stop
Trump has been feuding with Fox News since the network put on the first debate in August, when Kelly asked Trump about his treatment of women, prompting a stream of insults from the candidate and complaints of not being treated fairly.
With Donald Trump backing out of the latest Republican presidential debate at the last minute, Rand Paul will now join the six remaining GOP candidates on the main stage Thursday night. After Fox News reportedly responded with a mocking e-mail that rubbed Trump the wrong way, he said he probably would not participate in the January 28 Iowa debate on Fox. “I think I’ll do great”, he says. Mr Trump, who called his decision “pretty close to irrevocable”, said he would hold an Iowa event at the same time as the debate to raise money for wounded veterans. “At some point you have got to start doing other things other than debating” on Wednesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.
For the one-on-one debate, Cruz suggested Levin as a moderator if “gentle Donald can not handle Megyn Kelly”. But a half-hour later, Trump again went after Kelly on Twitter, calling her a “lightweight reporter”. Kelly will be one of the three moderators at the debate.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz challenged Trump to debate him Saturday night in Sioux City, Iowa.
“These kinds of theatrics by Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are an entertaining sideshow, but they have nothing to do with defeating Hillary Clinton”, Mr Rubio said.
The former Florida governor also called out his fellow Republican presidential candidates for being “very afraid of dealing with” Trump in other debates, but predicted Trump’s absence could change the dynamic on stage in Des Moines come Thursday.
“He will not be participating”, Mr Lewandowski said. Trump pointed to those media statements, as well, in explaining his decision not to attend Thursday’s debate.
O’Reilly finished their exchange by complimenting Trump for coming onto the network for the interview despite his complaints about Fox. I thought her question last time was ridiculous.
“Capitulating to politicians’ ultimatums about a debate moderator violates all journalistic standards, as do threats, including the one levelled by Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski toward Megyn Kelly”.
However, Byron York at The Washington Examiner thinks that Trump could face repercussions in Iowa as a outcome of skipping the debate. I frankly think that toppling Gaddafi led to chaos in Libya and the rise of radical Islam.
