Leavittsburg fire spreads from garage to two houses; family suspects arson
The freakish moment in question happened on local Ohio station WKBN, as reporter Derrick Lewis was covering a house fire in the town of Leavittsburg.
Trumbull County Fire Investigation Unit Chief Matt Balut said the fire is being treated as suspicious.
Homeowner Heather Tenney said she was awakened about 3:45 a.m.by neighbors banging on her door.
So, I know that it has to be a major shock to wake up in the middle of the night to find out that part of ones property is on fire, and that making a clear path from Reaction Point A to Reaction Point B is hard. He already put [womans husband] in the hospital once last month, and he figured he was going to do something else to get back. “I don’t want to mention no names”, the woman said before revealing that it was her cousin who did it. But the reason why? “Everything I had that was precious to me was in that garage”.
“He’s mad because he can’t get with me”.
WKBN reported that officials had taken in a person of interest for questioning, but did not identify him, as no charges had been filed. “I am married to my husband”.
Ms Tenney’s husband also told the station that his tractors and generators in the garage were destroyed in the fire – the couple also said that they do not have insurance.
