Blake Griffin hurt in fight with Clippers staffer in Toronto
The Clippers forward apologized after he was involved in a physical altercation with equipment manager Matias Testi in a Toronto restaurant Saturday.
There were signs Griffin was nearing a return, most notably his decision to travel with the team on its recent road trip. They played the Raptors the day after the incident, losing 112-94. From the photos, Griffin looks to be concerningly bigger than Testi. The altercation reportedly began inside the restaurant with Griffin hitting Testi, who went outside, only to be followed by Griffin, who hit him again.
The equipment staffer’s face was injured, sources told Eaves.
Blake Griffin is becoming a liability for Los Angeles Clippers management.
Griffin and teammate DeAndre Jordan are good friends with Testi, according to sources.
“It’s frustrating. You don’t want it to happen to anyone…. But it did … and you have to live with real life stuff”.
In Indiana, where the Clippers will play the Pacers on Tuesday night, coach Doc Rivers told reporters that the team would issue a statement before the game. The NBA and the Clippers are investigating the matter to gain more clarity about the sequence of events. The procedure was performed by Dr. Steve Shin.
“I’m not satisfied with anything”, Rivers said. No, I’m not satisfied with anything right now…. The team recently traded away Josh Smith who they just signed this past offseason. We represent the Clippers, and we have to continue to do that.
When Blake Griffin soars through the air for a dunk, defenders barely have time to avoid getting posterized. The expected time of recovery is four to six weeks. “I know what I can control and what I can’t control and those are the things I can’t control”.
Without Griffin in the lineup, the Clippers are 12-3 following a 91-89 victory Tuesday night at Indiana.
Rivers expressed frustration at the “distraction” of the incident, which he said “shouldn’t have happened”.
-Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said that there are no discussions with any National Basketball Association teams about a deal for forward Kevin Love. “But for me, I’ve got to lead this team”.
“We’re all like family”. “We just did a bad job in that stretch”.
Now, before we get too carried away making assumptions, details are still limited. At one point tonight, I think we had four guards on the floor.
