Nintendo NX May Have Super Smash Bros. Game as Launch Title
While Koto is citing an undisclosed source, it’s important to note Kantan Games is based in Japan and deeply connected with the industry.
Bandai Namco, of course, worked with Masahiro Sakurai and his core team to develop Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS, and it seems more likely that this would be an enhanced port of those games – if it exists at all.
“Bandai Namco is now developing several NX titles”.
The NX is also rumoured to be releasing this year; if that’s the case, a brand new Super Smash Bros.is probably unlikely. If the NX launches with a Smash Bros. game, it will certainly bring more interest to Nintendo’s new console. It might actually be a launch title for the console. Additionally, the expected new characters for “Super Smash Bros”, namely Bayonetta and Corrin, are expected to debut in February. According to Dr. Serkan Toto, the studio is indeed working on Super Smash Bros. and “several” NX projects, although he is unsure is this Smash Bros.is a port of the Wii U version or not. This would mean players got an enhanced game, possibly with all of the now released DLC contained in it, with maybe a few extras thrown in. Now we just wait for Nintendo to reveal it officially. Nintendo began talking about the console a year ago in earnings reports after rumors suggested that it was preparing a new console with robust internals to take on the Xbox One and PS4.
