Increasing clouds overnight, chance of flurries Friday
Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Temps drop down to the lower 20s on Friday night. The meteorological winter (December through February) precipitation total (rain plus snow converted to liquid) stayed at 4.28 inches, 1.47 inches above normal.
There will be a chance of snow showers this morning, and some rain could mix in after noon.
There’s a 30 percent chance of snow showers before 11 a.m.in Boston though no snow accumulation is expected.
From Saturday and into the start of next week, meteorologists say we’ll see the wind die down and highs jump from the upper 30s all the way into the upper 40s. Light west wind becoming northwest 10 to 15 miles per hour in the morning.
Central Massachusetts stands little chance of seeing snow on Friday, the National Weather Service reports.
Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 36.
Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.
It’s going to be cloudy and cold in the midstate Friday.
The Weather Service said there’s a 20 percent chance for precipitation Sunday night in the form of rain and snow before midnight and then snow, a 40 percent chance for snow Monday night, a 70 percent chance Tuesday, a 60 percent chance Tuesday night, and a 30 percent chance Wednesday.
The high Friday will be around 40 degrees in Boston, 39 in Springfield, 37 in Worcester and 34 in Pittsfield.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. A chance of showers Monday night. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53.
Partly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high climbing to 46. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43.
