Broadway and Hollywood mix for hybrid musical ‘Grease

It is nearly time for Grease Live on Fox and fans can’t wait to see it. Julianne Hough is getting the chance to play Sandy and the Dancing With the Stars pro and judge is now speaking out about getting the blessing of Olivia Newton-John for her playing the role and also about what viewers can expect to see.

“We are doing what we think is the best version of “Grease” that fits live television”, said Plat.
“We’re paying homage to the film, but this isn’t a remake”, says Jepsen. “This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I’ve had in my career so far”.
“One of the things we really were very focused on was trying to capture the spirit of both the original companies of “Grease” and that film that has left such an indelible impression on all of us”, director Thomas Kail told The Hollywood Reporter.
